From USS Takeda Shingen

The USS Terra Nova NCC-63550 was an Akira class starship constructed at Utopia Planitia Shipyards, Mars. The Terra Nova was commissioned on March 9th 2377 under the command of Captain Elie Monroe his Executive, Commander Des Astor, Chief of Security Lieutenant Commander Cale Hunter and Engineer Lieutenant Imaru Melina Asheven.

Only six months later, after an encounter with a Borg cube the Terra Nova was badly damaged, both her Captain and Exec either assimilated or dead. Being the only surviving member of the ships command staff Lieutenant Commander Hunter was assigned to command the starship and underwent command training while the Terra Nova was under repair and refit at San Francisco fleet yards.

Upon her recommissioning the Terra Nova was assigned to the newly formed Delta Force expeditionary unit assigned to explore the Delta Quadrant after the return of the USS Voyager. Commander Alex West was assigned as ships Exec, actually a member of Section 31, he had been placed on the ship to monitor the former renegade, Cale Hunter, who along with the now deceased Captain Monroe and Commander Astor, had foiled a major Section 31 operation and managed to capture one of their prototype stealth ships and turn it over to Starfleet Command.

In 2379, while on assignment one Lieutenant Junior Grade Diziara was assigned from the Delta Force Flagship, USS Remington as the new Chief Flight Control Officer. Shortly thereafter the Terra Nova was reassigned back to the Federation proper. Shortly after her return Lieutenant Diziara was assigned elsewhere.

In early 2380 the Terra Nova struck an Omega partical. Taking severe damage to the engineering sections the ship was destroyed by a resulting warp core breach taking 127 of her crew into oblivion. Captain Hunter, Commander West and Lieutenant Asheven were among the survivors who managed to take shelter in the forward saucer section before it jettisoned from the crippled starship moments before warp core detonation.
