The USS Obama (NX-94268) is a prototype runabout intended to supplement and eventually replace the Danube class runabouts currently in service in the fleet. It is a mix of Federation, Dominion and Borg technology.

There is a lot of buzz around the design and building of this craft, due to the unusual mix of technology sources. It has already gained some notoriety when malfunctioning phase inducers reacted poorly to the tachyon eddy that Diziara had piloted the Obama through, while testing the handling of the craft in the Denorios belt. This malfunction led to a crossover event with the Mirror Universe.

One of the more noteworthy features of this craft is its fully user customizable control panels. Preloaded with a selection of the most common fleet configurations, the user can adjust everything from the language the panel displays in all the way through the layout and color scheme. There is even a holographic extension of the panels to allow the inclusion of a tactile interface for systems like the flight control.
