The Intership BBS is Shingen's bulletin board system. The sysops maintain a "free speech" policy, while one or two moderators/sysops with the proper clearance ensure that nothing of a sensitive nature is posted - and if it is, the matter is quickly dealt with. As a result of the "free speech" policy, users are often quite outspoken (and even offensive) in their opinions of members of senior officers and brass, for example The Facts About Lieutenant Commander th'Shan. The BBS's present Sysop-In-Chief is Sadik.

The BBS is one of the major ways in which ship scuttlebutt is propagated. A few users have gained their own reputations, even if only as thread killers. "Sadik's Law" is when math geek Sadik jumps into a thread and starts talking about statistical probabilities; "Jack's Law" is when history buff and obnoxious conservative JackRyan44 begins talking about either history or his politics - especially when Godwin's Law is invoked - in which Jack will inevitably kill the thread entirely by either actually discussing the Nazis, or launching into a multipage tirade about John Gill.
