"When once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return."

-Leonardo da Vinci

Diziara is a red-headed, blue-green eyed, Klingon-Trill hybrid who is currently serving aboard the USS Takeda Shingen. She is a passionate pilot, fighter, lover and boozer, who often has problems with authority. She will never do anything she isn't willing to take the consequences for, but if she feels that the consequences are unjust, she will do everything in her power to seek vengeance. Considered by most to be an ill match for Starfleet, she's somehow managed to not get drummed out of the fleet despite her epic laundry list of reprimands on record.

She typically is called by her callsign, Death Kitten, or some shortened form of her name like Diz or Dizi. Sometimes people make the mistake of calling her Red, but don't often get away with it more than once.

She is a very private person. If it is not on the topic of sex, booze or flying, she will not talk about it unless she trusts you explicitly. On the topics of sex, booze and flying, she will tell you anything and everything you want to know if she herself knows it. Combat related subjects are unusual. If you have shown her that you are adept at combat, she'll be as open about the topic as she is with the sex, booze and flying, but if she considers you inept, she will avoid the topic as much as she avoids almost every other topic.

Childhood

Luna

Born on Luna, she's the eldest of a set of triplets. He brother Kaith is two minutes younger, and Kang five minutes younger than that. She and her brothers were raised by just their mother for their first ten years, due to their father being MIA in Starfleet. Speaking mostly English when in school and interacting with friends and neighbors, their only exposure to the Klingon culture came at home directly from their mother. While her brothers latched onto anything Klingon flavored their mother tossed in their direction, Diziara feigned polite interest but ultimately didn't pay any of it much mind.

Qo'noS

About a week and a half after their tenth birthday, B'Lalen told her children to pack up, as they were headed to Qo'noS to visit family because her sister B'Talla had fallen seriously ill. She didn't explicitly say that it was intended to be a one way trip, but the whole of the household was packed up. It was at this time that Diziara started keeping her journal, using the one that her mother had given her as a birthday present.

While B'Lalen's siblings welcomed Diziara and her brothers, they did not receive a warm welcome from their grandmother. This icy reception was the same among those outside of the family. People made it clear that those of such a mixed heritage were an abomination and therefore unwelcome within The Empire. At first this seemed to be but a small problem, Diziara and her brother's mostly kept to the family compound, except when visiting their sick Aunt in the hospital.

When Aunt B'Talla died, Diziara met her cousin Mara for the first time. While the rest of the family had been nice enough, Mara was the first one Diziara felt comfortable around. Mara was fluently bilingual in both Klingon and English, and was the only person since they'd arrived that would speak to Diziara in English.

When B'Lalen officially decided they were staying on Qo'noS, she enrolled her children in the local school system. Diziara's brothers, looking mostly Klingon despite their tell tale Trill spots, fit in much better than Diziara did, being a flaming red-head with pale skin and blue-green eyes. It didn't help that her use of the Klingon language was weak, and thus made her stand out further. It didn't take long for the shy and peaceful child to develop into a spitfire with a natural combat instinct in the name of self defense, and she was forced to buy herself a regenerator to patch herself up from the frequent fights.

When Once You Have Tasted Flight...

Diziara's first taste of flying came when Mara's friend Morth took her up in his antique internal combustion aircraft for a test fly. When this provoked more passion out of her than Mara had seen before, it was decided that Morth would do what he could to teach her the basics of flying in hopes of getting her a spot in a good flight school.

Just after her fifteenth birthday, she was accepted into a flight school based on a Federation space station. Her first time away from the protective attention of her mother for any length of time, she started to find out who she really was. She thrived in the school environment, easily jumping to the head of the class. It was here she also met her first boyfriend, and had sex for the first time. As she started to explore who she was, she quickly developed confidence in herself that hadn't had a chance to develop before. Where on Qo'noS she did everything she could to downplay how she was different from her peers, here she wasn't shunned for her mixed heritage and started to draw attention to her unique and striking genetic traits instead of attempting to hide them.

Pre-Starfleet Career

She ended up graduating from flight school half a year early, and was hired right away by a freighter company that was greatly impressed with her skills. The company specialized in expensive and rare cargo, and had frequent problems with pirates because of this. She was placed on a crew aboard a freighter named Barracuda, with a Human male, Travis, and Andorian thaan, Blue. She'd encountered Travis before, thought he was a bit of a jerk but managed to work with him. Blue, she wasn't sure what to make of, the name he answered to, willingly, seemed derogatory, and she'd never met an Andorian before. Eventually she grew very close with both of them, and the three of them were practically inseparable until Travis' untimely death.

Starfleet

Her father was in service of Starfleet when he went missing only months before she and her brothers were born. This in and of itself wouldn't have likely been enough to alienate her against the fleet. However the run around, the lack of answers, and the mysterious choice to leave her father listed as MIA without any information documented to show he might still be alive somewhere and the ship he was listed as missing with having returned to the bosom of the fleet, has left her with little patience and a lot of dislike for the fleet. So to say it shocked friends, family and acquaintances alike when she elected to join the fleet after Travis' death would be an understatement of epic proportions. Her shock over Travis' death is the popular theory as to how she even passed the psych exam to get into the fleet to start with.

Academy

Despite being so out of it that she didn't even remember her first year and a half at the Academy, she at least had the good sense to enroll in the Academy in order to become an officer and continue to be a pilot. She woke up from the depression based haze to find she'd made some friends during that year and a half, and one of them was actively pursuing a romantic relationship.

One of her favorite restaurants in the city during this time was a little Klingon place that opened up during her first year and a half at the Academy, Valanna's. She was already a regular at the place by the time she had started to come around from her depression that marked her first year and a half at the Academy. She once said to her friend Corey about the place, "Give them some time, and word of mouth will get around. By then I'll be posted on a ship somewhere, and won't have to worry about dodging fights," after asked about why there weren't so many Klingons eating there at the time.

Despite her first, and probably the best known, official incident on her record being punching Admiral Owen Paris out cold during his survival course at the Academy, she managed to graduate. She'd gotten top grades, had the best flight scores, yet was listed as firmly in the middle of the class in the graduation records due to the academic probation she was placed on as punishment for the incident with Admiral Paris. This punishment hadn't been intended to do anything but frustrate her, as her grades had been nothing but stellar despite the amount of time she was out seeking sex, booze and trouble, but it kept her from being able to test out of courses or get involved in anything but select extra curricular activities.

Career

Being filed away as middle of the graduating class, she ended up low priority on the selection of her first duty assignment, so where most of her classmates from the flight training at the Academy ended up on starships and in fighter squadrons, she ended up stuck on a random space station. It only took two months for the fleet to realize how big of a mistake this was and transfer her to a ship instead. Unfortunately, Diziara's ability to find trouble kept this first ship assignment short when she got caught running betting pools on the Mulligan. She really hung herself as one of the standing pools was about when the Captain would sleep with his yeoman.

By some weird stroke of luck, it was decided that the best way to punish her for this incident was to put her on assignment as Admiral Paris' chauffeur, where it was hoped that he might be able to improve her respect for authority. The year and a half long assignment may have not taught her more respect for those who outranked her, but it certainly did teach her how to better hide her contempt. When the Admiral decided that she was behaving as well as she ever was going to, she was reassigned to a new ship, the Rothmore.

During her time on the Rothmore, there was the war with the Klingon Empire. This became problematic and an odd reversal of her childhood. Where as it was she could never be Klingon enough, suddenly she was too Klingon. There were a couple incidents where other crew members said and did things, and fights resulted. It was very odd to her when she ended up the protected half of the fight, instead of the punished half. She did end up going on a lot of away missions during this time, partially due to her combat skills, partially due to familiarity with the language and culture of the enemy. It was also during this time she made friends with Lucas Spiegel.

As the rift between the Federation and the Klingon Empire was repaired during the time leading up to the beginning of the Dominion War, there was more interaction between the Klingon Defense Force and Starfleet. As word got around of Diziara's service during the Klingon War, to the Klingon crews the Rothmore coordinated with for various engagements during the Dominion War, more and more incidents occurred between her and various Klingon officers. This resulted in the fleet deciding she'd be better off on a ship that wasn't seeing much contact with Klingon allies. As with most military action, it may have been strongly executed but it was slow to move, as they didn't actually get around to transferring her until the Dominion War was nearly over.

The next few years passed mostly without note or significant event. Then one day there was a message waiting her after her duty shift explaining to her about the Delta Force mission, and that Admiral Khazara had expressed interest in her joining his senior staff of his flagship, the Remington. She was intrigued by the concept of the mission, and even more intrigued by a Romulan Admiral in Starfleet. It probably didn't take her more than fifteen minutes to type out a professional response indicating in no uncertain terms that she was available and interested in the mission.

Diziara's time spent with the Delta Force mission, serving aboard the Remington, was easily her best time with the fleet. She got along with her crew mates (greenhorns calling her the Devil Incarnate aside), she even had a long term relationship, the first she'd had during her fleet career. The relationship eventually went south due to a combination of significant differences in opinion on the subjects of morals, sex and religion, in addition to the rumors spread by the junior officers and enlisted personnel due to being involved with the second highest ranking person on the ship. The same night she ended her relationship, she put in for a transfer. When the Terra Nova was reassigned back to the Alpha Quadrant, she was transferred there for a year before getting dumped on Starbase 668.

Starbase 668 was literally the lowest one could go in the fleet without actually getting drummed out. Her time on the Terra Nova was almost as good as her time with Delta Force, but she had someone within the Admiralty that wasn't happy with her, so she was transferred off the Terra Nova without request or warning. 668 turned out to be a hell of a culture shock. While she was known for causing trouble, she was the picture of efficiency when on duty and her tasks for any given shift or assignment were always completed, even if she ruffled a few feathers along the way. On 668, she was one of a very very small number of people who actually consistently and effectively did their job. It was mostly the non-fleet locals and the occasional person with a story similar to hers of crossing the wrong Admiral at some point or another, that ran the whole of the station. She reluctantly accepted her fate as time passed, it was a well known fact that those who were posted to 668 only left due to leaving the fleet, be it on good or bad terms. Then like a cat with nine lives, a lifeline was dropped to her. She received transfer orders to serve on a ship again.

She was surprised by the transfer for many reasons, first was the source of the transfer, Admiral Paris. His wife had taken a liking to Diziara when she'd been serving as his chauffeur, and when she heard that Diziara had been dumped on 668, she started to encourage her husband to resolve this slight. The second surprise was finding out that Spiegel was being transferred onto the Shingen the same time she was. The third surprise was that Travis' niece, Grace, was also serving aboard the Shingen. The last surprise was that the man who'd shot her in the back in a bar on 668 shortly before she received her transfer orders, Therav, was also posted on the Shingen, and he outranked her. Despite all these surprises, she settled in quickly, even started meeting people and making friends. It quickly became apparent that Admiral Johnson had taken a personal interest in her, singling her out for attention, soliciting her feedback on things an Admiral didn't usually ask a Lieutenant junior grade their opinion about, and even stepping into a sparring ground with her on Andor to have his ass kicked by her. While she was annoyed by the rumors of her being an Admiral's pet that started to circulate, she didn't let that stop her from taking advantage of the favoritism he was showing her.

As a result of this unsolicited attention from the Admiral, as well as her performance on the away mission on Andor, the Admiral gave her first stab at playing with a new runabout prototype the fleet was working on, the USS Obama. After returning from the mirror universe due to an error with the Obama, it was in that very vessel that Diziara was finally promoted to the rank of full Lieutenant by the Admiral himself, in the presence of a very odd man named Voralis Cryn.

Hobbies

Her first and foremost passion is flying. Be it in craft big or small, intended for in atmosphere, space or both, if it flies, she's there and enthusiastic to get the jump at it. She has a fascination with antique Earth aircraft, especially the PT-17 Stearman biplane. She is enthusiastic about stunt flying, dog fighting and anything that requires instinct, adrenaline and lightning fast reflexes. She particularly has a reputation for upsetting the stomach of greenhorns, and even has a replicator pattern for an airsick bag, called Diziara Greenhorn Four.

When she's not engaged in flight related activities, her thoughts and passion distribute at random between sex, booze and fighting, often times mixing more than one together. She also programs a pretty mean holodeck, usually as an outlet of her other passions being likely to get her into trouble when applied elsewhere. She maintains a pretty good sized holodeck program library, making all of it available to her crew mates to use also, and allowing access to copy, edit and redistribute anything she's the primary author on.

She has been known to cross over into areas that most people wouldn't consider proper, such as running betting pools, selling porn, and putting on public sex performances. She's also been known to start bar fights simply because she was bored or didn't have anything better to do.

Music

Diziara enjoys listening to music a lot. Her musics tastes are a little surprising to those who don't know her. Her upbringing by her mother has instilled a respect and appreciation for Klingon Opera, which expanded to include Earth Opera as well once she was given the chance to look into these things on her own. Her time with Travis introduced her to Earth music of the 20th century, as well as some of the early 21st. This appreciation for that era of Earth's music history expanded when she minored in 20th century Earth history at the Academy. In particular she has a love for Nightwish and Babyland.

When she's on an away mission that involves piloting a runabout or other small craft, or even when she's on the bridge with a commanding officer who doesn't mind, she'll load up one of her play lists to help the time go by quicker. After she picked up the habit of tailoring play lists to the occasion from her numerous missions during the Klingon War with Spiegel, she has gotten pretty creative in her play list creation. She has one list in particular that draws a lot of attention, she crafted it while on assignment with Delta Force. She calls it the Cochrane play list, and it features the song he launched the Phoenix to, Magic Carpet Ride, as well as others he was known to listen to, like Ooby Dooby.

She has a weakness for karaoke, which was started during her time at the Academy by her friends Corey and Jack, who drug her to Mack the Knife. While she won't actively seek it out, if someone else suggests it, or hints that they'd be better at it than her, she's all over it. She and Corey often got into the Broadway duets most enthusiastically, and Jack and Diziara would get into competitions over who could do a better job. Occasionally Jack would get all mushy, and try to woo her through the songs he selected to sing, but she wouldn't have anything of it. She was an especially bad influence though, and did a number on both boys with her heckling and distracting from the audience, then would reward them with enough booze they'd be very manipulable by the end of the evening.

Journal

Diziara has been keeping a personal journal since she was 10 years old. The first volume was given to her by her mother, which she filled somewhere 10 to 15 years from the first entry. All neatly hand written in actual bound books, most people don't even give her journal a second look upon her shelf, being so uncommon for people to actually write down their thoughts instead of recording them in digital form.

Very rarely has Diziara caught anyone actually looking in her journal, though it was the center of one noteworthy fight with Travis. Having long since come to terms with who she is, and making no pretense to hide it, it is unlikely that anyone looking at the contents of the journal would find anything about themselves that she herself has not told them, but she is still fiercely protecting of the journals because of the things written within about her past and how some of those events helped shape who she is.

She keeps this journal almost entirely separate from her official Starfleet log. In her official log, she will occasionally make concessions to others sensibilities and avoid saying things that will likely incriminate her later if she acts on them. Her personal journal is full of thoughts that would shock some people, offend others, and often times travels ground that few dare tread as she continues to try to better understand herself and those around her.

Relationships

Diziara is fiercely loyal to those she considers to be family. Her cat Delilah, her closest friends, and occasionally even blood kin, all qualify for this particular distinction. She will never hesitate in her actions to defend anyone who qualifies for this title, and regardless of the outcome, she will never regret her actions unless they directly result in the harm of any who she intended to protect.

Blood Kin

Those who are genetically related to Diziara, they somehow continue to be important enough in her life that this hasn't come to be a factor against them in her opinion of them.

B'Lalen

Diziara's mother, she has a love-hate relationship with the woman. Easily half of her hatred for Starfleet is the result of the run around the organization has given her mother on the subject of Diziara's father. Despite all the efforts she has made in her life, she can never satisfy the woman, so Diziara's long given up trying. As far as Diziara knows, her mother still holds her responsible for her brother joining the Klingon Defense Force. The last attempt to mend fences between mother and daughter died when Travis died.

Kaith

Growing up, Kaith was usually the most drawn apart and distant sibling between the trio. He was always the most violent of the three, most likely to get into a fight, and quickest to lose his temper.

Until the Klingon-Federation war saw Diziara and Kaith on opposite sides of the conflict, the two had a pretty good relationship. Then one of Diziara's missions during the war put her in singular combat against her brother, and he didn't take kindly to losing, yet retaining his life. It has taken him a while, but he's finally starting to forgive his sister for the insult upon his honor dealt him as a result of her sparing his life during that encounter.

Kang

Diziara's favorite brother, the two of them have always been the closest. They share a tendency towards unconventional combat techniques, and a love of modified weaponry of the technological flavor. Even when Diziara's not speaking to any of her other blood kin, she and Kang manage to stay in contact. Despite the war, and the rest of the family's disgust in her choice to stay in Starfleet, she and Kang stayed on good terms and in communication despite efforts and suspicions on both sides that attempted to prevent it.

Kang's easily one of the people who would be on the short list of people that Diziara would drop everything for to help out if he needed it, and who she knows would do the same for her if she asked it of him.

Mara

Diziara & Mara's tattoo

Ever since Mara was the first person to make Diziara feel truly welcome after being moved to Qo'noS, Diziara has considered her to be her closest confidant. Mara was the one who helped Diziara through some of her earliest relationship trials, as she was the one who answered Diziara's questions as she started to explore sex with her first boyfriend, Jarzen. Mara was also the one who helped pick up the pieces when Jarzen left Diziara shattered and alone when he broke up with her.

She and Diziara have matching tattoos on their upper right arms, a tribal style sun with a dot in the center.

Lovers

Those who she has shared her bed with, and managed to foster enough of an affection from her that not only were they repeatedly welcomed back, but she values them for non-sexual reasons as well.

Travis Foster

The first time she met him, she thought he was a swaggering jackass, even though she admitted he had a nice ass. Insults were exchanged, his manhood challenged, and then he was promptly forgot about until she was placed on a crew with him. Interactions were mildly better, they at least managed to be civil to each other. He did drive her crazy, as he was about as unashamed about his body as she was about hers, frequently giving her an eyeful and leaving her frustrated as all hell. This led to her getting involved in a casual sex relationship with their other crew mate, an Andorian who answered to the name Blue.

When Travis' girlfriend back on Earth cheated on him, and he found out about it from a friend, he promptly broke up with her and suddenly started paying attention to Diziara. A combination of morbid curiosity and burning lust caused her to give him a chance, and what probably should have never been anything more than a rebound turned into a passionate relationship that was on its way to marriage. Then he died.

His death hit her so hard that she blanked out on the next year and a half of her life, and enrolled in Starfleet despite hating them for the runaround they gave on the subject of her father. Nearly sixteen years later, and she still hasn't gotten over him. She recently had the chance to catch up with Blue, who tried to force her to face her inability to move on. Then she ran into Travis' doppelganger while in the mirror universe. Both events have challenged her inability to move on, and has left her trying to better manage this emotional baggage.

Toby Amsel

Literally a rebound gone right, Diziara met Toby when Mara was trying to distract her from the surprise and pain of being dumped by her first boyfriend, Jarzen. He's probably the person who can get the most credit for awakening Diziara's sexual appetite and developing her casual and open habits about sex and relationships. After they hit it off, he and Diziara talked constantly, and he helped her land the job with the freight company. Then after spending two weeks together, he ran off to find himself, after his best friend Korth decided to get married to Diziara's cousin Mara.

It took him eight years to come back from finding himself, and he was utterly floored to find her the one place she had sworn up and down she'd never be. He'd actually suggested she consider joining Starfleet when he'd first met her, only to get hit with a wall of hatred harder than diamond. Despite this surprise, and despite the betrayal Diziara had felt when he'd abandoned her, she accepted him happily back into her life and picked up right where they'd left off. Though where Diziara had probably be on her way to falling head over heels in love with him before, she firmly placed him into the role of dear friend with whom she has sex, as she didn't want to be hurt again.

Like her brother Kang, Toby's on the short list of people Diziara wouldn't hesitate to drop everything for if he genuinely needed something of her, and who would do the same for her.

Thinshalrablu th'Zhaath

Their sex-based relationship literally started by him walking in on her masturbating frustrated on the floor of the bunk room of the ship they both worked on. Due to the casual, relaxed and enlightened perspective on sex his species holds, he didn't even blink before he offered to assist with her problem of sexual frustration. Before that, he'd simply been the quiet, reserved and unusual coworker and crewmate who occasionally distracted her from the anger, sexual frustration and eye candy that Travis provided.

When he'd elected to step back for Diziara and Travis to get together, he'd surprised both with his actions. Travis was surprised because he hadn't understood that sex could be anything but an expression of love and attraction to the one person he was involved with at any given point in time, and thus had assumed that Diziara and Blue had been in a "serious relationship". Diziara had been confused because not only had she not realized Travis could possibly be interested in her, but she had not even considered being involved with him simply because he managed to piss her off so fiercely. To Travis' confusion, Diziara and Blue remained close friends after Blue and Diziara stopped being sexually involved, and once Travis learned to accept this and even made efforts to improve his friendship with Blue, the three of them became practically inseparable. It got to the point where some people even accused Diziara of having a harem between Blue and Travis, even if Blue wasn't sexually involved with her anymore. Other people even went so far as to accuse the three of planning to be bonded together, some saying all they needed was a fourth, others saying that three was enough for them.

When Travis died, it hit Blue as hard as it hit Diziara, and he headed home to join a bond. Between this and Diziara literally blacking out for the year and a half, Diziara fell out of contact with Blue until she was almost graduated from Starfleet Academy. Even after she'd gotten in contact with him again, they found it hard to actually meet in person again until over a decade later. He had his bond and three children occupying his time, and she had Starfleet dictating how most of her time was spent. They finally were reunited during an under cover operation on Andor Diziara went on shortly after being reassigned to the Takeda Shingen. This reunion occurred during an Andorian winter festival and the rekindling of the sexual coupling of the two held the attention of a significant portion of the crowd in the area near the front of the stage. Despite his bonded status, it has been made clear that the sex is simply a recreational activity and is not intended to threaten his bond, as it is, his bond mates he still has regular contact with have expressed interest in perhaps joining the two in their sexual exploits next time Diziara is on their planet.

Patrick O'Donnel

She met him while serving on the USS Remington with Delta Force. He was transferred to the Remington as Chief of security, found himself quickly promoted to first officer, and by the time Diziara's time had ended on the ship, he had made his way up to Captain, serving directly below Admiral Khazara himself. From the first, he showed interest in her, but it was a little more of a challenge for him to make her give him her time and attention. His first appearance on the bridge involved dress uniform and fancy pants gloves, and she dismissed him as stick up his ass jerk as a result. He didn't let his initial cold start discourage him, and he kept up pursuit of friendship at first, then relationship soon after.

When he first met Diziara, she literally had a different man sharing her bed almost every night. She cycled her way through security, dabbled in engineering, and worked the doctors and nurses in between the others. At first he didn't say anything to her about it, but eventually he started asking her how she could possibly benefit from flitting from one man to the next. Her explanations of a lack of pressure to maintain anyone else's standards, the freedom of only seeking her pleasure, and if the other party happened to be satisfied too, happy bonus, failed to satisfy him. As time went on, she realized that his questions were due to an interest on his part, but unlike most men she'd dealt with, it wasn't about the sex, it was about her. This concept perplexed her, and confused her. It especially confused her when she finally allowed his pursuit properly, and found that he was waiting until marriage for sex due to religious beliefs. This left her absolutely confused, in part due to having no frame of reference for religion, and in part because she was such a sexual being that the concept of going without didn't even occur to her. Such a novel idea this was for her that she decided to try to make it work.

Eventually the relationship fell apart, and Diziara requested transfer off the Remington and out of the Delta Force. The beginning of the end was his proposing marriage when she expressed frustration over the lack of sex and his continued insistence that it had to wait until after marriage. It went downhill when she caught him in the sonic shower, enjoyed the view and got caught with her hand in the honey pot. He felt violated, she didn't understand what the issue was, and that was the final straw. She decided it shouldn't be that hard, called it quits and put in for her transfer within the next twenty-four hours.

Blood Type: B+

Armistice Zane

When transferring to the Terra Nova after her time on Remington, the first person Diziara encountered on the ship was Zane. A six foot tall tabby cat who was just as inclined to talk to Diziara's feline owner, Delilah, as Diziara herself was, this relationship started off much more friendly that her last.

Neither actually seemed to actively pursue the other, but it didn't take long for the two to find themselves sharing a bed. Absolutely casual, and absolutely rough and tumble, Diziara delighted in this light weight pseudo-relationship after the intensity of Patrick on the Remington. She was delighted to find someone who was just as driven by wild crazy violent sex as she was, but was delightfully surprised when he'd drop in the taste of romance here or there, like a flower and a note left behind on the pillow when she'd wake up in the morning half off the bed, claw marks down her back, and the prospect of dinner on the holodeck once their respective shifts were over.

They parted on good terms, when she received orders to transfer to Starbase 668. If they ran into each other again, she would happily pick up where they left off.

Everyone Else

There are people in Diziara's life that are not blood relations, and she does not have sex with, but she still considers important enough to protect and help as if they are family.

Lucas Spiegel

She first met him on away missions during the Klingon War, where she started getting paired with him regularly in situations where a small team who could get in and out easily would be beneficial. When he turned out to be one of the few engineers who'd go in with her and come back pretty much entirely intact regularly, she started getting curious about him, especially given that he did not seem to have one combat capable bone in his body.

He surprised her when one of the first things that came up during their first bout of off-duty chatter was the very firm insistence that he did not sleep with crew mates. Surprised as she was, as she had not yet even considered that far ahead, she moved forward with their friendship anyways. She convinced him to tell her his first name, something that he never answered to, in exchange for tasty alcohol, and proceeded to get him drunk off his ass as they just talked in her quarters. During that conversation, she told him about the mystery that was her father, and why she disliked Starfleet so much due to facts surrounding that mystery. This spiked his interest and started him off on a fact finding hacking mission to see if he could shed some more light onto the situation. Ultimately, he ended up raising more questions than answers, but Diziara was quite impressed by the efforts made. Between that, his engineering skills and his ability to keep himself out of the line of fire, she has come to consider him a dear friend and valuable asset.

Corey Waterhouse

She met Corey while at the Academy, as when his best friend Jack insisted on pursuing Diziara, he felt it was his obligation to help his friend. Even as Jack's efforts failed, Corey found himself not only forming a friendship with Diziara, but getting entangled in some serious sexual frustration because of his promise to Jack to stay out of his way. Diziara, Corey and Jack spent nearly all their free time together during their time at the Academy, and when Jack was otherwise obligated with Red Squad activities, Diziara and Corey spent that time finding trouble together.

Over the years, Corey and Diziara have managed to keep in regular contact, though mostly through subspace as their assignments have often pulled them in different directions.

Rumors

Over the years, many rumors have sprung up about Diziara.

One of the most popular rumors about her is that she is evil, sometimes people go as far as to say she is the Devil incarnate. This assumption seems to have been a result of a few different factors. First of all, her different set of moral guidelines that had resulted from her mother's culture, and her career choice before she found herself in Starfleet. Second of all, there is her cavalier attitude about rules, and how she ignores them when she finds them annoying, in the way of getting the job done, or just a pain in the ass preventing her from enjoying herself. She has not helped in stifling this rumor as she finds it good sport to pick on green horns, and finds it absolutely impossible to resist toying with them and their assumptions based upon rumors.

Another popular rumor, though not often repeated to her face, is that she's a black widow. This one seems to have stemed from Travis' untimely death, her lack of willingness to tell much of anyone about what happened, and how horribly mangled facts have a tendency to get when being spread from uninvolved party to uninvolved party, the further away from the source they get. This one surprises her when it comes to the surface every once in a while, and especially pisses her off as she still somewhat blames herself for Travis' death.

Artillery

The only time Diziara feels naked is when she doesn't have at least one weapon upon her person or within arm's reach. As a result of this, she has become very creative on how to create weaponry out of random objects. She isn't above appropriating someone else's good idea either, and after witnessing "Evil" Storvik's creative use of peanuts during a barfight on Milliways, she has made similar use of a pea-like food item while in the Shan-Zhess keep on Andor, directed at The Blue Bastard

Some weapons of note in her collection:

  • d'k tahg - given to her by her Aunt Ba'el and Uncle Kergan, when she'd been accepted into her first flight school at age 15. It has been her dependable companion through many events in her life, big and small.
  • Glock 18 - her "In Case of Borg" weapon, usually filled with the large clips and tucked into the back waistband of her pants if worn on her person.
  • glass throwing knives - handles wrapped in black leather and designed to fit within sheathes that are sewn into Diziara's leather coat
  • modified phaser - looks like a type I, has the power level of a type II. a present from her brother Kang.
  • modified Klingon disruptor - like the phaser, it's had it's power level kicked up so that it's significantly more powerful than its original form.
  • daishō - commissioned specifically for her by Mouse, a katana and wakizashi with black lacquered sheathes decorated with blue roses.
  • bat'leth - usually displayed on the wall of her quarters. not her favorite weapon, but she's effective enough with it.

Clothing

Diziara is not a fan of wearing clothing. She mostly does so out of courtesy for others, and in an effort to avoid stirring more shit than necessary. She will often shed her clothing the first plausible excuse she can find to do so, and has no problem being nude in front of friends, foes and strangers alike.

Even though she does not like to wear clothing, she does understand the aesthetics of it, and is very selective about what she wears if she must wear something. She also has unusual proportions to her body due to her mixed genetics, and has a difficult time finding things that just fit correctly using standard sizing practices. Due to this, nearly everything she wears is custom tailored for her, with the exception of her collection of tourist shirts she picks up whenever she's somewhere that offers such.
